For the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster, the German firm has developed an extensive customization program to take care of both the styling and performance aspects of the car.

Brabus says it is currently working on more extreme engine upgrades but for the time being, an available kit promises an increase of 26-horsepower and an additional 30Nm (22 lb-ft) of peak torque for the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY.

There are two available performance packages for the SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY. The first kit bumps output from 204HP to 230HP, while the second package lifts output to 240-horses and 370Nm (273 lb-ft) for a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 248km/h (154mph).

Those looking for a deeper exhaust note can order a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with quad tailpipes. Brabus will also add a sports suspension that lowers the two-seater model’s ride height by some 30 mm (1.2-inches) and a high-performance braking system.

On the outside, the German company has developed several aerodynamic components including a front bumper with spoiler lips, side sills, a rear diffuser with a centrally mounted rear reflector and a boot lid spoiler.

There are several alloy wheel designs to choose from ranging in size from 17- to 20-inches. The larger rims are shod in high-performance tires from Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA in sizes 235/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 275/25 ZR 20 at the back.

Finally, Brabus offers a variety of interior upgrades ranging from high-gloss polished stainless-steel scuff plates and aluminum foot pedals and shifter to bespoke leather treatments.

Mercedes-Benz Unveils Hot C63 AMG Coupe Black Series 2012 – Latest priced & details of Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black 2012: Well, it was no big secret (not after some tell-tales spilled the beans facing the Germans’ wrath) that Mercedes-Benz was planning to unveil the Black Series edition of its C63 AMG Coupe during the German Grand Prix at Nürburgring.

Now the company has gone ahead as planned and revealed the C63 AMG Coupe’s hardcore sibling, the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series. The most potent version of the C-Class Coupe does not stray away from the successful formula of the models that carried the Black Series tag before it.

The Black Series is powered by the “regular” C63 Coupe’s naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 but thanks to AMG’s modifications that include forged pistons, conrods and crankshaft, a 50% bigger oil cooler and a new ECU, it churns out 517HP (60HP more than the standard model) and, more importantly, 620 Nm (457 lb-ft)of tarmac-tearing torque.

All this power is channeled to the 19-inch rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch AMG Speedshift transmission. The gearbox has four modes and its fastest gear change time, in Sport or Manual, is just 100 milliseconds. Performance is, of course, exceptional: the C63 AMG Black Series accelerates from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.2 seconds.

The C63 AMG Coupe Black Series has a standard limited-slip differential. The novelty is that it’s electronically controlled and linked to the ESP stability control system, which itself has three settings, and unusually for a Mercedes, in its sportiest one is completely deactivated.

AMG’s engineers widened the front and rear tracks by 40 mm and 70 mm respectively, and also fitted stiffer anti-roll bars along with an adjustable coil-over sports suspension. The braking system comprises of 390 mm front and 360 mm rear discs, with six and four-piston calipers respectively.

Visually, the newest member of the Black Series clan gains a different front bumper with huge air intakes, bloated wheel arches, chunkier side sills and a redesigned rear bumper with quad exhausts.

Inside, the C63 AMG Black Series comes with a two-seat configuration, though Mercedes does offers a four-seat layout as an option. The car also gets red seat belts, a sport steering wheel covered in nappa leather and high-gloss black piano inserts on the dashboard along with the Black Series logo.

Mercedes-Benz offers two optional packages with self-explanatory names: the Track package, which features special Dunlop tires and a differential cooler, and the Aerodynamic package with carbonfibre aerodynamic aids on the front bumper and a carbonfibre rear spoiler.

Sales of the new C6 AMG Coupe Black Series are expected to commence in January, with a starting price in Germany of €115,430 ($165,722).

On a side note, Mercedes-Benz also announced that former McLaren-Mercedes F1 driver David Coulthard is the AMG divisions new ambassador. The 40-year old Scot will aid the AMG development team in testing and also take part in customer and press events starting with the campaign for the new, 557HP V8 biturbo E63 AMG.

and today Mercedes-Benz’ press department finally decided to share the details and a high-resolution photo gallery of its newcomer with the rest of the world. We have already voiced our thoughts about the ML-Class’ styling so on this post we’re going to concentrate on the available engine lineup and specifications.

Starting with the North American model, the third-generation ML-Class will make its U.S. retail debut in September 2011 with two available models at launch, the ML350 4MATIC and the ML350 BlueTEC. More engines will be added down the road.

The gasoline-powered ML350 is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 delivering 302HP and 273 lb-ft of peak torque, and returns an estimated fuel economy of 17mpg city and 22mpg highway. The outgoing ML350 with a 268HP V6 returned 15mpg and 20mpg respectively.

The ML350 BlueTEC features a 3.0-liter V6 diesel rated at 240HP and 455 lb-ft, returning 20mpg city and 25mpg highway (previous model: 18mpg/25mpg).

A seven-speed automatic transmission is standard on both models.

In Europe, Mercedes will eventually offer the 2012 ML-Class with a broader range of diesel and gasoline powerplants. New to the lineup is the ML250 powered by a 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel with 204HP and 500Nm (368.8 lb-ft) of peak torque, and a combined fuel economy of 6.0lt/100km (39.2 mpg US).

At launch, there’s also the ML 350 BlueTEC with a 250HP 3.0-liter V6 diesel (6.8 lt/100km) and the ML 350 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY with a 3.5-liter V6 petrol delivering 306HP (8.5 lt/100km).

All models are equipped with a seven-speed auto and four-wheel drive as standard.

More powerful V8 variants including the top-end AMG with a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 will follow at a later date.

Mercedes will also offer the optional On&Offroad package for the new M-Class (available next year in the U.S.) that utilizes a range of six transmission modes to optimize driving dynamics and handling by changing the settings for the AIRMATIC suspension and the powertrain. The system offers a single automatic mode, two dedicated off-road modes and three on-road modes, all controlled through a rotary knob on the center console.

Latest photos and information Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster 2012 Officially Revealed: Little by little, Mercedes-Benz is releasing more photos and information on its 2012 SLS AMG Roadster ahead of the supercar’s world premiere at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Following the release of a barely disguised car earlier this month, the German company’s PR tease continues today with the first official photos of the roadster version of the SLS AMG without any kind of camouflage.

We also get to learn that the three-layered fabric soft top will not eat in the roadster model’s trunk area as its capacity remains at 6.1 cubic feet with the roof either open or closed, and is roughly the same to that of the SLS AMG Coupe, which stands at 6.2 cubic feet. The fully automatic top is available in three colors – black, beige and a classic red. It opens and closes in eleven seconds, and can be operated on the move at speeds up to 31 mph or 50km/h.

Like other open-top Mercedes models, the SLS AMG Roadster is equipped with the firm’s AIRSCARF system that warms the head and neck areas of the driver and passenger by blowing hot air from vents integrated in the head restraints. Other standard features include a black designo leather treatment, heated AMG sports seats, a detachable glass windstop, COMAND with Navigation and DVD player, anti-theft alarm system with tow-away protection and interior monitoring, dual-zone automatic climate control and the KEYLESSGO starting function.

There are no surprises under the hood with the roadster sharing the coupe model’s AMG 6.3-liter V8 mounted just behind the front axle and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that drives the rear wheels. In North American specification, the naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine delivers 563 hp and 479 pound-feet of torque, while the European model is rated at 571 horsepower and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque.

Price for New Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Grand Edition 2012 – Photos & info Luxury cars Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Grand Edition 2012:  While Mercedes-Benz’s GL-Class isn’t short of luxury, the automaker has presented a new variant called Grand Edition that caters to the needs of buyers desiring a little extra opulence.

The packaged adds numerous features, including 20-inch special light-alloy wheels, two-tone leather seats with a new design and wood trim in black ash.

Cosmetically, the GL-Class Grand Edition sports a re-trimmed front end with blacked-out headlights, a new bumper with integrated LED daytime running lamps and a larger grille with black, high-gloss background and chromed bars. The grey metallic rims match the aluminum-look running boards, the front underbody protection panel and the separated exhaust tailpipe trim.

Inside, the Grand Edition receives various new features such as two-tone leather seats with special piping and contrasting stitching, leather-covered door center panels, armrests and dashboard, plus black ash wood trim on the door panels, dashboard and steering wheel. The more exclusive atmosphere is rounded off by the ambient lighting, the black designo fabric roof lining, velour floor mats, sports pedals in brushed stainless steel and “Grand Edition” badge on the center console.

The GL-Class Grand Edition is available with all engines, from the V6 gasoline and diesel units in the GL 350 BlueTEC 4Matic (211HP) and GL 350 CDI 4Matic (265HP) to the V8 petrol units in the GL 450 (340HP) and GL 500 (388HP). All models are fitted with the 4Matic all-wheel drive system, Airmatic air suspension, Direct-Steer system and Adaptive Damping System.

Prices in Germany start from €80,206 ($112,200) for the GL 350 CDI Grand Edition, while the top of the range GL 500 Grand Edition has a base price of €99,127 ($138,700).

Mercedes-Benz USA Releases Full Details on its 2012 Model Year Changes:  The past few months have been quite busy for Mercedes-Benz, with the German automaker having introduced a horde of new models such as the refreshed C-Class and the new SLK and C-Class Coupe, just to mention a few.

In addition, the company has updated its engines and transmissions while also adding new features across the range like the new audio headunit with a 5.8-inch color display.

In the U.S., Mercedes-Benz is planning a full attack this year starting with the launch of the second-generation CLS sports saloon in June. Today, the Stuttgart-based premium carmaker released a list outlining the arrival dates and the changes for its 2012 model year cars and SUVs in the States. Mercedes Benz G Class SWB with Special Edition 2011-2012 – Latest price for Mercedes Benz G Class SWB: It won’t be long before Mercedes stops production of the short wheelbase version (SWB) of its iconic G-Class series, but before that happens, the German company is launching a limited production model, fittingly called the “BA3 Final Edition” as a last hurrah.

It is joined by a special version of the long-wheelbase model (LWB) called the “Edition Select”, based on the G500.

The G-Class BA3 Final Edition is available with two engine variants (G 350 BlueTEC and G 500) and sports several AMG elements such as the flared wheel arches painted in the same color as the rest of the vehicle, radiator grille with chrome highlights, 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels, stainless-steel running boards and spare wheel cover. Other features include an electric sunroof, metallic paintwork, parking radar and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Inside, limited edition SWB model boasts ventilated and heated front seats covered in black leather, burr walnut wood trim and chrome highlights on the gearshift lever, seat adjustment controls and loudspeakers in the front doors. Standard features include a mobile phone package, rubber floor mats and a load compartment cover with additional stowage boxes.

In Germany, the 211HP G 350 BlueTEC “BA3 Final Edition” is priced at €90,511 ($134,500), while the 388HP G 500 version costs €100,686 ($149,600).

Moving onto Merc’s second special G-Class, the long-wheelbase “Edition Select” package is offered exclusively on the V8-powered G500. It comes in a two-tone paintwork, with the bumpers, AMG side flaps and exterior mirrors finished in obsidian black metallic. The stainless-steel running boards and spare wheel cover, together with the black 18-inch alloy-wheels add further contrast to the rugged 4×4’s body. Other exterior elements include the carbon-fiber inserts on the protective strips, underbody protection and an AMG sports exhaust system.

The two-tone theme continues in the cabin, where porcelain and black designo leather create a stylish atmosphere. The car carries the Chrome package from the “BA3 Final Edition” and also gets designo piano black wood trim. The dashboard, armrest, door handles and brake lever are lined in black leather, while the inner door panels are lined with gathered leather. A 12-speaker, 450-watt Harman Kardon Logic7 surround sound system, the crash-responsive Neck-Pro head restraints and stainless steel door sill panels also come as standard.

The “Edition Select” package adds €6,735 ($10,000) to the price of LWB G-Class models in Germany.

Mercedes Announces Latest price for 2012 SLK63 Roadster and 2012 CLS550 – Latest info of 2012 Mercedes SLK63 AMG Roadster and 2012 Mercedes CLS550:  We’ve already had our first look at the new-generation SLK roadster and CLS sports sedan lineups, but now, Mercedes-Benz has decided to reveal pricing on both models ahead of their U.S. market launch this summer.

For the time being, the German automaker has announced pricing only for the 2012 SLK350 that will start at $54,800, not including a $875 destination and delivery charge, which raises the cost to $55,675. In comparison, the soon-to-be-replaced 300-horsepower 2011 SLK350 is priced at $54,145 (including transportation fee).

The new hardtop roadster model is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that features direct injection and multi-spark ignition, producing 302 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque for a 0-60mph (96km/h) sprint time of 5.4 sec.

Mercedes-Benz has not yet released pricing info on the base SLK 250 model that is equipped with a 201HP 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine returning a 0-60mph acceleration time of 6.5 seconds and a combined fuel economy of 27mpg combined with the standard 6-speed manual gearbox.

The four-door 2012 CLS will offer U.S. buyers a choice of two models, both powered by Mercedes’ new biturbo, direct-injection V8 engines. The 4.6-liter CLS550 engine produces 402 horsepower and 443 lb-ft. of torque, while the high-performance CLS63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter version of the new V8 that’s rated at 518HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque.

Pricing –excluding a $875 destination and delivery charge- will start at $71,300 for the CLS550 and at $94,900 for the CLS63 AMG.

Mercedes E63 AMG sedan 2012 with 5.5-liter V8 Bi-Turbo with up to 557HP – Latest price for Mercedes E63 AMG sedan 2012 from $154,540-$158,100:  Mercedes-Benz used the 2011 New York Auto Show to reveal the updated 2012MY E63 AMG, which now features the new 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine instead of the old naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter unit.

The new powerplant, already known from the CLS63 AMG, delivers 525 horsepower as standard, with an additional 32 ponies for a total of 557HP with the AMG Performance package. In base form, the 5.5-liter unit produces 7 more horsepower than the previous 6.2-liter engine.

The new V8 engine has a peak torque of 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) available between 1750 and 5000 rpm, with the AMG Performance kit adding another 100 Nm (73.7 lb-ft) of torque. Needless to say, the AMG-badged E-Class is super fast reaching the 100km/h mark in 4.3 seconds (4.4 s for the Estate) with its top speed restricted to 250 km/h (155 mph). The AMG Performance models shave 0.1 seconds of the 0 to 100 km/h time, while posting the same average fuel consumption.

Enthusiasts will appreciate the 3-stage ESP system with Sport mode, as well as the AMG Ride Control sports suspension, which now has a wider front track (by 56 mm) that increases grip in high speed corners.

Equally impressive is the improvement in fuel economy. The new E63 AMG sedan posts an average fuel consumption of 9.8 liters/100 km (24 mpg US), while the Estate version settles for 10 liters/100 km (23.5 mpg US). This represents an increase of 22 percent in fuel-efficiency compared with its predecessor, as the new car uses 2.8 liters less per 100 kilometers. CO2 emissions stand at 230 g/km for the sedan and 234 g/km for the estate.

Among the fuel-saving measures Mercedes quotes is the newly developed electromechanical AMG sports steering system, which only uses power when the car is steered, and the efficient AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission fitted with a stop/start system.

Visually, the E63 AMG with the new M157 engine has new light-alloy wheels and the “V8 Biturbo” badge on the front wings. Inside, the car gets the flat-top and -bottom steering wheel from the CLS63 AMG, a new E-Select shift lever with embossed AMG badge and a 3-D TFT color display in the center of the speedometer.

The market launch is scheduled for September 2011, with prices in Germany to remain unchanged at €105,971 ($154,540) for the E63 AMG sedan and € 108,409 ($158,100) for the Estate. The AMG Performance package adds an extra €8,306.20 ($12,100) to the base price.

Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Coupe 2012 Available with 457HP and 487HP, latest price of  Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Coupe 2012: True to prior speculation, Mercedes-Benz has lifted the curtain on a high-performance version of its recently launched C-Class Coupe developed by its AMG division.

Stuttgart’s answer to the 450HP Audi RS5 and the 420HP BMW M3 coupes is built around the revised 2012 C63 AMG saloon and sticks with Mercedes-Benz’s familiar 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 lump.

As with the sedan model, the V8 powerplant in the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe will be offered in two states of tune. The basic version churns out 457HP and peak torque of 600Nm in EU-spec, and 451HP and 443 lb-ft in US-trim, for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.5 seconds [0-60mph in 4.4 sec] and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h [155mph].

Customers can opt for the AMG Development Package that pushes output to 487HP in the EU model and 481HP in the U.S.-spec variant, for a 0 to 100 km/h to 4.4 seconds [0-60mph in 4.3 sec] and a limited maximum speed of 174 mph [280km/h].

There’s only one available transmission for the rear-wheel drive coupe, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed automatic that offers several modes including the Controlled Efficiency “C”, “S”, “S+” and “M” modes. These are selected through the new rotary control borrowed from the SLS AMG Gullwing model. Mercedes says gear changes in the “S+” and “M” modes take just 100 milliseconds. In addition, there’s a RACE START function that is said to allow “the driver to explore the vehicle’s full acceleration capability”.

The range-topping AMG model gets a modified chassis with a separate three-link front suspension, a reinforced multi-link independent rear suspension and a wider track at both ends, plus more negative camber all round and anti-roll bars with a larger cross-section. The high-performance braking system with composite front discs and the three-stage ESP (On, Sport and Off) complete the performance upgrades.

On the styling side, Mercedes’ newcomer stands out from its more timid siblings through a bodykit that includes front splitter, rear diffuser and a carbon fiber boot lid spoiler along with a modified aluminium bonnet and AMG-specific LED daytime running lights. The Coupe model rides on a set of 18-inch alloys wrapped in 235/40 R 18 (front) and 255/35 R 18 (rear) tires.

As for the interior, the two-door Merc gets a bespoke set of body-hugging sports seats with integral head restraints, unique trim and an AMG performance steering wheel with flattened top and bottom sections that was adopted from the CLS 63 AMG.

In Europe, the market launch of the new C 63 AMG coupe starts in July 2011 with prices in Germany set at €72,590. The new Mercedes coupe will make its U.S. showroom debut in September 2011.

Mercedes Benz C-Class 2012 at Ad Campaign – Latest info and news of Mercedes Benz C-Class 2012: Mercedes-Benz has kicked off a major advertising campaign for its facelifted C-Class series under the tagline “A Class Ahead”. The new model will be promoted across print media, TV, radio stationsa nd the Internet.

While the TV advertisements are filmed in rural environments, the print ads put the C-Class in urban settings. Each advertisement highlights a specific feature of the 2012MY C-Class, such as the 20-second commercial called “Souvenir” (view below) that underlines the estate’s 1,500-liter load capacity and the “Rocker”, dedicated to the interior of the car. In addition, the German automaker released a new photo gallery of the 2012My C-Class, which you can check out below.

The redesigned Mercedes-Benz C-Class range is claimed to be up to 31 percent more fuel-efficient than its predecessor thanks to the updated engines, all equipped with start/stop function as standard (with the exception of the C 300 CDI 4Matic).

The updated C-Class also benefits from the introduction of ten new driving assistance systems, including the Attention Assist drowsiness detection and the Distronic Plus proximity control. Also available is a new generation of telematics with internet access and 3D navigation display.

In total, more than 2,000 new components have been added to the new model, according to Mercedes-Benz. The new C-Class will be launched onto the European market this month.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe 2012 at Geneva Motor Show 2011: 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Officially Revealed Ahead of Geneva Motor Show. If you have been following us here on Carscoop, you already know about the new C-Class Coupe from Mercedes-Benz thanks to a bevy of spy shots and more notably, a series of leaked photos that left little to the imagination.

However, this time, its official with Mercedes-Benz releasing a ton of pictures and preliminary details on both the North American and European lineup.

As its name implies, Mercedes-Benz’s newcomer is a two-door variant of the facelifted C-Class sedan, and it has been designed to replace both the CLK and CLC Sportscoupe. It sits right under the larger E-Class Coupe in Mercedes’ range, offering the company a direct competitor to the BMW 3-Series and Audi A5 coupes.

From the outside and apart from the two door body style, the chief differences over the sedan model concern the more steeply raked windshield and longer sloping roof, the arched window line with an upsweep kink into the C-pillar, plus the redesigned rear end. The Coupe’s front end is identical to that of the four-door model.

Inside, the C-Class Coupe sports the same updated dashboard as the rest of the range but features a four-seat layout with independent sports seats. The rear backrests can be folded to extend the storage area.

Underneath the sheet metal, the Coupe packs the same hardware as the rest of the C-Class family.

In the U.S., it will be offered at launch with two engine choices, a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit with direct injection and turbocharging technology delivering 201HP and 229 lb-ft of torque in the C250, and a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 producing 302HP and 273 lb-ft in the C350. Both models are equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission as standard.

In Europe, Mercedes has announced an initial range of three gasoline engines and two diesel powerplants, all equipped with direct injection and the ECO start/stop function as standard.

The diesel lineup includes a 2.1-liter four-cylinder unit available with 170HP and 204HP guises, while the gasoline range, a 1.8-liter turbo with 156HP and 204HP, and a 3.5-liter V6 with 306HP.

The most economical coupé model is the C 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with a manual six-speed transmission and the standard ECO start/stop function, which has an average diesel consumption of 64.2 mpg UK, equal to 53.5 mpg UK and 4.4 lt/100km, and emits 117 grams of CO2 /km.

A BMW M3-rivaling performance version featuring the C 63 AMG’s 457HP / 487HP 6.2-liter V8 is also believed to be in the works.

The new 2012 C-Class will receive its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1 and make its way to European showrooms by June and in the U.S. in September.
