At the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes previewed its first-ever, series-production diesel-hybrid model, the E300 BlueTEC HYBRID that will be available in both sedan and Estate body styles when it is launched onto the market at the end of 2011.
The hybrid system pairs a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine developing 204HP with a 20HP (15kW) electric motor for a combined output of 224 horsepower and a torque of over 580 Nm or 427.8 lb-ft.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible Plus 55 Auto 2010: For those of you that fancy a topless E-Class, Mercedes-Benz has revealed a convertible version of the coupe that will make its world premiere at next month’s Detroit auto show. The fourth member of the E-Class family, which essentially replaces the CLK Cabriolet, features a classic fabric soft top can be opened and closed fully automatically within 20 seconds at speeds up to 40km/h or 25mph.
Mercedes says that E-Class Convertible’s boot capacity with the roof open is 300 liters (13.5 cu.ft.) , raising to 390 liters (13.8 cu.ft.) when closed.

Mercedes Ben G55 AMG Kompressor Auto 2010: This year’s Dubai Motor Show appears to be all about special edition models aimed at wealthy Middle Eastern buyers. Together with the SLS AMG Desert Gold that we told you about in an earlier post, Mercedes-Benz also staged the premiere of the G55 AMG KOMPRESSOR “Edition 79″, which like the trio of Bugatti Veyron specials, is exclusively destined for the Middle East.

Named in reference to the sales start of the G series in 1979, the G55 AMG KOMPRESSOR “Edition 79″ will be built in a limited run of only 70 units.

New auto – Mercedes-Benz ML450 HYBRID: Mercedes-Benz will launch the new ML450 HYBRID onto the U.S. market on Monday, November 16 but with one catch: you won’t be able to buy it. See, the German automaker is offering the hybrid SUV in the States as part of a special lease only option. Those interested can choose between a monthly lease price of $659 per month for 36 months or $549 per month for 60 months.
Beneath the ML450 HYBRID’s hood lurks a 3.5-liter Atkinson-cycle V6 gasoline engine that makes 275 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is combined with a pair of magneto-electric motors integrated within the modified automatic transmission, that produce 80HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque, and 83HP and 173 lb.-ft of torque.
