In Japan, Subaru will market the five-door hatchback model under the Sport designation and the four-door sedan as the G4. Both body styles are identical to the North American models that were introduced earlier this year.

The fourth generation of the Impreza will reach Japanese dealerships on December 20 offering buyers a choice of two engines, a new 1.6-liter flat-four with 115HP and 148Nm of torque that replaces the 1.5-liter unit used in the previous model, and a 2.0-liter boxer rated at 50HP and 196Nm, in either FWD or AWD trim.

2012 Subaru Impreza Announces new Pricing at $18,245 – Latest photos & Review for 2012 Subaru Impreza Autos: The all-new 2012 Subaru Impreza will arrive in U.S. showrooms in the beginning of November,

and the Japanese carmaker announced today that its starting price will be $17,495 before the $750 destination charge (*$18,245 total) for the base four-door Impreza 2.0i with a manual gearbox, meaning that the starting price remains unchanged over the outgoing model.

The base engine for the 2012 Impreza is an all-new 2.0-liter boxer engine that delivers 148-horses (22HP less than the outgoing model’s 2.5-liter unit) and 145 lb-ft (197 Nm) of peak torque, and returns a projected EPA fuel economy of 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.

All 2012 Imprezas feature Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system while the boxer engine can be paired to either to a 5-speed manual, or the new Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission.

Not including a $750 destination charge, the base Impreza 2.0i Sedan with the CVT starts at $18,495, while the entry-level five-door model at $17,995 when equipped with a five-speed manual and $18,995 for the CVT-equipped model.

The better-equipped 4-door 2.0i Premium starts at $18,795, while the 5-door Premium starts at $19,295. For the 2.0i Limited, prices start at $21,595 for the 4-door and $22,095 for the 5-door version, while the Impreza 2.0i Sport Premium, which is offered exclusively with the five-door body style, starts at $20,295.

Subaru WRX and STI models Car 2011 at SEMA Show 2011:  For a company that builds the wildly popular in the tuning scene WRX and STI models, Subaru appears to be taking it easy at this year’s edition of the SEMA Show. According to the official announcement, Subaru’s offerings on the Las Vegas Convention Center floor will be highlighted by the “fastest STI ever”; a pre-production test model that lapped the Ring in 7:55:00 in the hands of four-time World Rally Champion, Tommi Mäkinen this past summer

The other cars on display will be Travis Pastrana’s World Record Setting WRX STI, and three custom-tuned WRX STI’s, while the company will also showcase the latest available Subaru Genuine Parts and Subaru Performance Tuning Accessories [no photos have been released yet].

“SEMA is the pinnacle of the aftermarket tuning world and the perfect place to show our new line of SPT parts,” said Charlie Fishman, national accessory manager, Subaru of America, Inc. “With the launch of the new 2011 Impreza WRX and WRX STI, Subaru is having a record year for Subaru Genuine Parts and SPT accessory sales. The launch of the 4-door WRX STI has rekindled interest for the 2011 SEMA Show.”

Subaru said that SRT USA drivers Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra will be on hand to sign autographs at the firm’s booth between 1 and 2 PM on November 2 and November 3rd, while Tommi Makinen will also attend the show this year.

New Subaru Impreza WRX STI Sedan 2011: Following on from the world premiere of the four-door sedan version of the 2011 Impreza WRX STI at the New York Auto Show in April and the Impreza XV crossover at the Geneva Motor Show in March, Subaru has confirmed that both cars will be offered in Japan with sales set to begin this June.

The Japanese automaker did not release any more details on the JDM-spec Imprezas, but we suspect that the WRX STI sedan will get the same 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer engine as the Japanese-market five-door hatchback model, while the XV appears to have no visible differences with the Euro-spec version.

2011 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan at New York International Motor Show:
Continuing the evolution of its Impreza WRX, Subaru announced today that it will unveil the 2011 model year versions of the car at next week’s New York International Motor Show. Inspired by the brand’s STI model, both the five-door hatch and four-door sedan Impreza WRX benefit from a new wide-body design for a more masculine appearance.

Subaru engineers widened the WRX’s front and rear tracks by 1.5-inches while the car also gets firmer rear subframe bushings and wider 17-inch wheels and tires (235/45R17 vs. 225/45R17).

Along with the widened fenders, the 2011 WRX models feature sharpened bumper corners and wider, blacked-out fog lamps and a newly designed grilled. Subaru says that these changes increase the curb weight of the 2011 WRX by 33 pounds.

The 2011 Impreza WRX sedan and hatchback models arrive in Subaru dealerships in the U.S. this summer. Both are powered by a 265-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder unit hooked up to a 5-speed manual transmission, which remain unchanged for the 2011 model year.

Subaru Impreza WRX STI Auto 2010: The new 2010 Impreza WRX STI Special Edition that premiered at the LA Auto Show this week will be priced $2,000 lower than the base STI model at $33,690 (including destination and handling fees), Subaru announced today. Available from early spring, the first batch of 125 cars will be painted in an exclusive Aspen White. After that, the Special Edition will join the lineup as a regular model and will be offered in Obsidian Black Pearl, WR Blue Mica and Dark Gray Metallic colors.
Subaru says that the Special Edition is aimed at the enthusiast who doesn’t mind trading a few amenities to gain an extra measure of handling performance over the standard STI.

While the model retains the STI’s 305HP turbocharged boxer engine, it adopts the sportier suspension from the JDM market WRX STI spec C model, which adds a 1-millimeter thicker rear stabilizer bar, stiffer rear sub-frame bushings plus upgraded springs. The front springs are 16-percent stiffer, while the rear springs have been stiffened by 29-percent.

The package also includes the spec C’s charcoal-colored 18-inch, 14-spoke alloy wheels.

The trade-off is that the WRX STI Special Edition gets halogen instead of HID headlights, a single-disc CD player / 4-speaker audio system instead of the 6-CD / 10-speaker system, manual air conditioning in place of automatic climate control, and side mirrors without integrated signals.
