Volkswagen Tiguan SUV Sports 2012 up with New R-Line Packages – Latest price & reviews for Volkswagen Tiguan SUV autos 2012: Volkswagen is adding some pizazz to its recently facelifted 2012 Tiguan SUV with the release of two R-Line packages, one for the interior and one for the exterior.

Both packages are designed for the ‘Sport & Style’ trim model and come with a slew of visual upgrades.

On the outside, the exterior treatment includes more aggressively designed front and rear bumpers, roof spoiler, a black rear diffuser, R-Line logos, aluminium door sill plates and newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels with 255/40 tires.

The R-Line exterior package can be combined with any of these colors: Candy white, Reflex silver metallic, Deep Black pearl effect, Night blue metallic and Pepper grey metallic. Pricing in Europe is set at €2,460 (US$3,390).

The interior treatment adds a pair of sport seats up front, unique upholstery, a sports steering wheel, black roofliner, aluminum pedals, and R-Line logos. It is priced at €840 (US$1,160) or €2,120 (US$2,920) if you opt for leather seats.

VW hasn’t told us yet when and whether the R-Line Tiguan will be available in the U.S.

Volkswagen CC 2013 at LA Auto Show World Premiere – Latest photos & reviews of Volkswagen CC 2013 Cars: Some four years and 270,000 sales worldwide after the launch of the Volkswagen Passat’s flashy four-door coupe sibling, it’s time for the CC to receive its first mid-life makeover.

Set to make its world debut at the upcoming 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, the 2013 Volkswagen Passat packs some select visual scrub ups to bring it up to date with the German brand’s more recent offerings.

You can spot the new model by the redesigned front that gets a new chrome-trimmed grille, reshaped headlamps that incorporate a ring of LEDs and a reworked bumper.

Similar changes can be found at the back with the new LED tail lamp, bumper and boot lid designs. A fresh choice of colors and alloy wheel options round off the exterior updates.

Inside, VW’s designers tinkered around with the air-conditioning controls and trim options while the company says it has improved the standard features across the range with the addition of a fatigue detection system, new audio, stainless steel door sills and safety head restraints with additional longitudinal adjustment for the front seats.

For the 2013 model year, there is also a new batch of available assistance systems such as the Side Assist Plus with integrated Lane Assist that warns of vehicles in blind spots and assists driver in avoiding an accident by steering intervention, Dynamic Light Assist and a camera-based traffic sign detection system.

In the USA, the CC will launch with the same engine lineup as before, including a 200HP 2.0-liter TSI petrol and a 280HP 3.6-liter V FSI petrols (FSI).

There are no changes to the European lineup either, with the CC being offered with several TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines ranging in output from 140HP to 300HP. The most fuel-efficient version is powered by the 140HP 2.0 TDI that delivers a combined fuel consumption of 4.7lt/100km (equal to 50mpg US).

The refreshed Volkswagen CC will first launch in Germany in February 2012, then gradually across Europe, America, Russia, China (local version starting in 2013) and other sales regions.

Volkswagen Golf R 2012 Price Form $33,900 in the US – Latest info & picutes of Volkswagen Golf R 2012 Cars: We’ve known about Volkswagen’s plans to sell the hot Golf R in the States for a while now, but today, the German carmaker released pricing details on the heir to the 2004 and 2008 Golf R32 models, which will go on sale early next year.

The most powerful VW hatch sold on this side of the Atlantic will be offered in both three- and five-door body styles with prices starting from $33,900 *plus destination. Models equipped with sunroof and navigation will carry MSRPs of $35,490 (two-door) and $36,090 (four-door), not including destination and handling fees.

While the older Golf R32 models made use of 3.2-liter VR6 engines, the new ‘R’ hides a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under its hood. In the States, it is rated at 256 horsepower (a 6HP increase over the VR6 fitted into the 2008 R32) and 243 lb-ft.

The N.A.-spec Golf R will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds with its top speed limited at 130mph (209km/h). For reference, the European model that is rated at 270HP and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), completes the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 5.7 seconds (5.5″ with the DSG) and has a limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph).

The German company said it expects the Golf R to return an estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway compared with EPA estimated mileage of 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway for the 2008 Golf R32.

Power is transferred to all four wheels through a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox and VW’s 4Motion system with a Haldex clutch pack that continuously varies the amount of torque sent to the rear axle.

The Golf R also features a beefed up suspension and new vented 13.6-inch-diameter front and 12.2-inch rear discs (up from the GTI’s 12.3-inch-diameter vented front and 10.7-inch solid rear discs), along with 18-inch alloy wheels shod in 225/40 all-season performance tires.

Visually, the flagship Golf stands out from its more modest GTI sibling thanks to a new body kit that includes a more aggressively styled front bumper incorporating LED daytime running lights, and a new rear bumper with a diffuser and central-mounted tail pipes, plus a gloss black finish for the mirrors and brake calipers.

The R is available in five colors: Rising Blue, Candy White, Carbon Steel Gray, Black, and Tornado Red.

On the inside, there are “R” logos on the side sills, the new bucket seats, the shifter knob and the squared off sports steering wheel, plus blue pointers for the instruments.

Standard features across the range include Bi-Xenon headlights; dual-zone Climatronic air conditioning; cruise control; leather seating surfaces; aluminum pedals; Bluetooth technology and an speaker sound system with an in-dash six-CD changer, and more usefully for the…21st century, an auxiliary input jack along with an iPod adapter.

VW’s Anniversary Volkswagen GTI Edition 35 with price start at £27,525 in UK – Latest photos & reviews of Volkswagen GTI Edition 35 2012 Cars: For those looking for a bit more muscle in their GTI, Volkswagen has launched the special anniversary edition of its hot hatch in Britain.

Created to celebrate the Golf GTI’s 35th birthday and first shown at the at the Worthersee Festival in Austria this past June, the Golf GTI Edition comes with a tuned 2.0 TFSI delivering 235HP.

The 25HP increase over the standard model allows the Golf Edition 35 to complete the 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint in 6.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 153mph (246km/h).

VW says it returns 34.9 mpg UK on the combined economy cycle (35.3mpg for the DSG) and emits 189 g/km of CO2 (185 for the DSG model).

Special features include a sportier bodykit with new side skirts and a revised front bumper, standard LED daytime running lights, bespoke 18-inch alloys, gloss black door mirror casings, ‘golf ball’ gearknob and Edition 35 badges inside and out.

In the UK, prices for the GTI Edition 35 start at £27,525 (RRP OTR) for the manual gearbox, three-door model, with VW charging a £1,295 premium for the DSG gearbox and £585 for five doors.

Even though VW describes the new car as a special edition model, the German company said that there isn’t a specific restriction on the number available. VW dealers will begin accepting orders now with first deliveries due next month.

2012 Volkswagen Beetle RS Car – Latest photos & details of 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Cars: We have no doubt that this year belongs to the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle when it comes to tuning mainstream cars.

Just wait and see once the first production models begin arriving in the market this fall. For those of you that can’t linger until September, here’s a first example of a tuned 2012 Beetle.

The 2012 Beetle RS Stage 1 is the creation of the Volkswagen-loving crew at VWvortex who were given a pre-production model by the German firm to work on. Since the vehicle came with no registration and license plates, the team decided to skip on the engine modes for now and concentrate on the styling aspect of the tune, which as you may have already guessed by now, was inspired by the Porsche 911 GT3RS.

Starting with the wheels, VWvortex fitted the new Beetle with a set of VMR710 20-inch alloys with a 35 offset. The rims are finished in orange and are wrapped around in Continental ExtremeContact DW 245-35ZR20 tires. Behind the front wheels is a Brembo Stage II brake kit with 14″ front two-piece cross drilled rotors, four-piston radial mount calipers, aluminum mounting brackets, stainless braided lines and pads.

The exterior makeup is limited for now to Beetle RS graphics finished in orange on either side of the car, the blacked out chrome strips on the lower part of the doors and the front grille, plus the 3M Titanium Brushed wrap for the rear VW logo. The team’s next upgrade will include a 997 GT3 RS-style rear wing.

Once VW comes out with the series production model, the plan is to move on with the performance upgrades said to include a turbo and exhaust system upgrade, and a locking torque-biasing differential.

VW Passat 2012 Car Prices start $20,675 in the U.S – Latest photos & info of VW Passat 2012 Car: Volkswagen has announced pricing for the all-new 2012 Passat, the firm’s midsize sedan design to meet the needs of U.S. consumers.

The four-door saloon will have a starting MSRP of $19,995 (€14,110), not including a $770 destination charge that increased the price to $20,675.

Built at Volkswagen’s newly inaugurated Chattanooga plant in the state of Tennessee, the Passat is available with three engine options and eight equipment levels. The starting price corresponds to the 2.5L model, which features a 170HP 2.5-liter petrol engine mated to a manual gearbox. The entry-level Passat comes equipped with automatic dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel audio controls and VW’s no-charge three-year/36,000 mile Carefree Maintenance Program as standard.

For $23,725 (€16,745), VW offers the 2.5L SE model, which adds an automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, 8-way power driver seat, heated front seats, touchscreen Premium VIII radio and a multi-function steering wheel covered in leather.

The second engine option is the 140HP 2.0-liter diesel unit that starts at $25,995 (€18,350) and is offered in three trim levels. The Passat TDI has an estimated highway fuel consumption rating of 43 mpg (5.47 l/100km) and a driving range of nearly 800 miles (1,287 km). The SE base trim package includes 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, Premium VIII radio and a six-speed manual transmission. The dual-clutch DSG box is optional.

Finally, the 280HP 3.6L VR6 model is offered in three trim levels, with a starting MSRP of $28,995 (€20,465). It comes standard with a six-speed DSG transmission and other features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, sport seats, sunroof and a Fender premium audio system.

Optional extras include leather upholstery, leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, wood decor, ambiance lighting, power passenger seat, memory driver’s seat, RNS 315 or RNS 510 navigation systems, front fog lights and keyless access with push button start.

VW Launches VW Transporter 180HP Sportline 2011-2012 in the UK – Latest price for VW Transporter 180HP Sportline 2011-2012: A new trim level that brings sportier looks and enhanced equipment features has been added to the UK range of the latest Volkswagen Transporter.

The Sportline specification is available on the panel van and kombi models, in both short and long-wheelbase versions, with prices starting at £28,220 (€32,000) for the panel van, and at £30,100 (€34,150) for the kombi.

Motivation is provided by a 2.0-liter BiTDI engine, which develops 180 horsepower and is paired to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. The Sportline is also available with the seven-speed DSG transmission, which is an optional extra priced at £1,400 (€1,590).

The Sportline trim adds some sporty exterior touches such as a glossy black grille with chrome detailing, smoked headlights, plus a revised front bumper that incorporates fog lights and a smaller grille. Additional elements include polished stainless steel sidebars and unique 18-inch “Sportline 5-spoke” alloys, finished in silver or satin black. At the rear, the van features smoked tail lamps and a roof spoiler. There are three colors available: Reflex Silver metallic, Deep Black pearlescent or the optional Candy White with a contrasting gloss black roof.

Inside, all Sportline models feature two-tone leather upholstery and additional equipment including semi-automatic air conditioning, a multimedia system with a seven-inch color touch screen, satellite navigation with full Europe map, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth connectivity and electric windows.

VW Announcement: Volkswagen Polo R WRC 2013 – Latest photos & info of Volkswagen Polo R WRC 2013: Reports of a future production version of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC car have started to emerge after the carmaker announced it would enter the World Rally Championship in 2013.

According to a VW board member quoted by Autocar, the company is working on a hardcore performance version of the Polo to back up its WRC entry.

Before the WRC announcement, Volkswagen had denied rumors of developing a Polo R, explaining that a very expensive small hot-hatch wouldn’t be profitable. However, the rally car revealed in the beginning of May featured the R nameplate and had lots of R branding on the bodywork.

VW board member Ulrich Hackenberg told Autocar that the WRC involvement would make a Polo GTI-topping model “more likely”. “You can see how the World Rally Championship program would increase the probability of an R version of the base model,” said Hackenberg, who added that the launch of the Polo R should coincide with the start rally program in 2013.

The car would probably use a more powerful version of the 1.4-liter turbocharged and supercharged engine used by the Polo GTI. Output will most likely be over 200 horsepower, as in the Polo GTI the four-cylinder unit delivers 180 horsepower. It is unclear, however, if the Polo R would adopt a four-wheel drive system as Audi’s future S1 model, built on the same platform.

New Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 2011-2012 – Latest price of Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 2011-2012: This year, Volkswagen is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the introduction of the original Golf GTI in 1976, and to mark the event, the German carmaker has unleashed a special version, named “Edition 35”.

As with the “Edition 30” launched in 2006, the latest anniversary model benefits from an upgraded and more powerful engine as well as discreet styling tweaks that differentiate it from the standard Golf GTI.

Starting with the mechanical updates, the GTI’s 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI engine is tuned to deliver an extra 25 horsepower, for a total of 235 horsepower. The increase in output should improve the hot hatch’s performance, but Volkswagen has not yet revealed any official figures, simply stating that the car will be more fun to drive. The automaker didn’t say whether the “Edition 35” will feature a lower suspension than the stock car, as was the case with the “Edition 30”.

The changes on the outside include new, bespoke alloy wheels, blacked-out headlights and taillights, darkened rear and tailgate windows and glossy black finish on the grille and mirror caps. In addition, the headlights also feature LED daytime running lights, and the front fenders are adorned with “35” plates.

In the interior, the “Edition 35” motive is also present on the door sills, the head rests and the center of the seats. The latter sport a fabric upholstery that has a honeycomb-like pattern instead of the standard model’s tartan theme. Another change is the golf ball-shaped gearshift lever.

The VW Golf GTI Edition 35 is already available to order in Germany with a starting price of €30,425 ($43,885). First deliveries are expected in mid June. The car’s official launch will take place at the famous Worthersee GTI Meet (June 1-4), where Volkswagen will offer more details on the car.

Volkswagen Beetle autos 2012 in the Flesh – Latest photos and info of VW Beetle autos 2011: We reported on the unveiling of the all-new 2012 Beetle yesterday, but since then we got our hands on a slew of fresh photos shot during the presentation of the car in Shanghai, as well as in Manhattan, New York, and Berlin in Germany.

For the most part, the first reviews on the ‘less flower, more power’ styling direction of the New Beetle’s replacement in general do appear to be on the positive side, but for Volkswagen, this needs to translate into consumer spending when the car goes on sale this fall.

The first new Beetle in 13 years will reach U.S. shores in September offering consumers three engine choices including VW’s 170HP 2.5-liter, five-cylinder petrol, a 140HP 2.0-liter TDI diesel, and a 200HP 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Buyers in the rest of the world will get a more modern lineup comprising of two 1.6-liter diesels with 105HP and 140HP, and a pair of turbocharged gasoline units, a 160HP 1.4-liter TSI and a 200HP 2.0-liter TSI.

The world premiere of the New Bug’s second remake will take place at the Shanghai Auto Show, and in New York and Berlin during MTV World Stage events.

For the launch of the New Beetle, VW has teamed up with MTV, with all three appearances of the car being linked to the music TV station. In Shanghai, the Beetle will revealed by an MTV DJ who will host an exclusive MTV Sound System event, while in New York and Berlin the car will make its first appearance during World Stage events, with live performances of The Black Eyed Peas and 2manydjs respectively.

The NY show will be streamed live on www.worldstage.mtv.com (excluding the UK), with highlights from both events to be available on MTV channels around the world.

“The Beetle is an icon of the automotive world, just like MTV is an icon of the music world. In the context of this marketing alliance, we are taking the new Volkswagen directly to our customers and fans of the Volkswagen brand – and we are doing it globally. We are certain that the car’s one-of-a-kind styling combined with the latest technology will be very well received by customers,” said Luca de Meo, marketing director of the VW Group.

As we’ve seen from the spy shots, the 2012 New Beetle will stick to the retro theme but will feature a lower roofline and more muscular looks in order to appeal more to male buyers. The car will use the Golf platform, so buyers should expect a similar mix of gasoline and diesel engines to VW’s bestseller. The German carmaker also promises “a lot of driving fun and individuality” for the New Beetle. More details will follow as we approach the launch date.

At launch, the Amarok will be offered only as a double-cab in three trim levels and with a choice of two turbo diesel engines.

Prices start from £16,995 for the Startline model and £18,995 for the Trendline, while the range-topping Highline will cost from £21,575

The entry-level powerplant is the 2.0-litre TDI with 122-ponies, which is available on the Startline models. A more powerful 2.0-liter BiTDI with 163-horses is standard on the Trendline and Highline models.

All Amaroks come equipped with VW’s 4MOTION Selectable four-wheel drive system, which allows the driver to choose between rear-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and low range four-wheel drive through a dashboard-mounted button. All models fitted with this 4WD system have a gross vehicle weight of 3,170 kg and more robust suspension which results in a payload of over 1,045 kg.

In addition to the 4MOTION Selectable system, the Highline model is also available with the option of a permanent 4WD system that reduces payload to below 1,045 kg due to the different settings of the suspension, which is tuned to offer “a more car-like driving experience with improved ride and refinement”, according the German company’s claims.

The standard equipment on the Startline model includes 16-inch alloy wheels, 4MOTION Selectable four-wheel drive, electric front and rear windows, semi-automatic air conditioning and single CD / radio plus an array of safety features such as six airbags, ESP, Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control, Trailer Stability Control and off-road ABS.

The Trendline model adds two-zone automatic air conditioning, RCD 310 radio / CD player, cruise control, multifunction computer, leather-trimmed steering wheel, handbrake and gear knob, color-coded mirrors, front bumper and wheelarch extensions along with front fog lights and 17-inch ‘Aldo’ alloy wheels.

Finally, the Highline specification is further enhanced with chrome detailing on the front grille, door mirrors and rear bumper, polished stainless steel sidebars, privacy glass and 18-inch ‘Durban’ alloy wheels, plus leather upholstery, heated front seats and rear parking sensors.
